AUCKLAND LIVE PROUDLY SUPPORTS TEMPO DANCE FESTIVAL
WHĀ: Hauora Sunrise Conversations
A partnership project presented by Atawhai Festival and Tempo Dance Festival
Now more than ever, dancers of Aotearoa need opportunities to speak about their wellness in safe spaces, and be given meaningful tools to achieve and maintain hauora. As recent research has revealed, dancers are the most economically challenged of all artists, and often experience a range of other hardships throughout their career.
Dr Tia Reihana will facilitate this free conversation offering insight into how dancers might embed a practice of holistic wellness into their lives by drawing on Te Whare Tapa Whā, a Māori health model created by Professor Mason Durie. Te Whare Tapa Whā suggests that our overall health is reliant on four aspects being nurtured and tended to: Tinana (physical health), Wairua (spiritual health), Hine Ngaro (mental health) and Whānau (Relational Health).
Taking place just after sunrise, this conversation will be facilitated Dr Tia Reihana. Our manaaki will be extended with complimentary coffee and fruit, and we ensure a safe and inclusive space for all. Pop in before heading off to work or rehearsal, and move into your day inspired, ignited and invigorated.
We want to make sure we have enough kai and cushions for everyone! Please register your attendance for catering purposes.
