A Riot of Spring Sacre: The Auckland Dance Project

Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring caused a riot when it was first performed in Paris. The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra’s performance of the work as part of the REAL New Zealand Festival in October is also a riot – of colour and youthful energy. Over 160 young people perform on stage to choreography by international choreographer and artistic director Royston Maldoom, assisted by Ann Dewey, Moss Patterson and Taiaroa Royal.
