MaryJane O’Reilly has had a professional career in ballet and contemporary dance spanning over 40 years both in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally. Co-founder of Aotearoa New Zealand’s legendary Limbs Dance Company in 1977 - Poi, Talking Heads, Saga and Games are among the 45 original contemporary works she choreographed on the company. MaryJane’s career has also included the opening ceremony of the 1990 Commonwealth Games, choreographing on the Royal New Zealand Ballet, Artistic Directer at Tempo Dance Festival, and she has received numerous grants and awards including the Allan Highet Award, and Queens Services Medal.
Currently she produces and presents In Flagrante – a contemporary dance/neo burlesque work conceived and created with Phil O’Reilly in 2011 that has been touring Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally.
